Spirit West Coast Ministry Overview

MINISTRY HAPPENS AT SPIRIT WEST COAST on many levels. Of course there is the inspirational message in the music - after all this IS a CHRISTIAN music festival. Regardless of the music style, the message of Jesus and His love permeates the music at Spirit West Coast. The message of faith in Christ is delivered in many other ways, always with the paramount PURPOSE of impacting PEOPLE with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

THE WORD is taught and Christian growth encouraged at various teaching sessions during the day, highlighted by the nightly Main Stage messages. Past Main Stage speakers have included such respected Christian leaders as Dr. Charles Stanley, Greg Laurie, Luis Palau, Dr. Tony Campolo, Frank Peretti and Josh McDowell.

The festival also presents other speakers who may not be as famous, but nevertheless are just as gifted - Miles McPherson, Ron Luce, Louie Giglio, Darrell Scott and others. At SWC, the teaching is not about how well known the speaker is, it's about how powerful the Gospel is.

An attempt is made to minister to ALL AGES and stages in life at SWC - youth, singles, families, couples, and children - there's a message for everyone!

CHILDREN are spiritually impacted on their own level by adult ministers and volunteers who have dedicated their performance gifts and talents to reaching children. Through a variety of "shows," including puppetry, singing, illusion, juggling and more, children will learn more about God's love. The Festival continues to partner with a ministry team from Child Evangelism Fellowship each year.

EVANGELISM happens - altar calls - decision times - challenges - whatever you call them, people are given a direct opportunity to accept Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. Since 1997 at eleven festivals now, nearly 4,000 people have reported "trusting" their lives to Christ by making salvation commitments at Spirit West Coast.

But the ministry and spiritual impact of Spirit West Coast is not just about spiritual head-counts. When thousands of people find themselves in a spiritually challenging environment, God does great things in their lives on many individual levels.

Other aspects of the festival ministry include - the prayer tents, evangelism training, new believer's classes, a water baptism opportunity, morning devotions, and many opportunities to worship - are all designed to allow people to go away from three days at either Del Mar or Laguna Seca much closer and in love with Jesus Christ than when they arrived. As simple as it sounds, when God impacts a life, it takes a time and a place," notes Event Director Jon Robberson. Spirit West Coast is just such a time and place!

As someone from Northern California publicly testified at his church, "...I came away from Spirit West Coast a changed man!."
