"NEW" NEWSBOYS RETURN TO SPIRIT WEST COAST
The Newsboys are returning to Monterey, and it's the "new" Newsboys with Michael Tait (formerly of DC Talk.) There have been thirteen Spirit West Coast festivals in Monterey, and Newsboys have played at eleven. There's nothing like hearing He Reigns, Wherever We Go, Shine and other classic hits with fans to sing-a-long with the Newsboys.
TENTH AVENUE NORTH SCHEDULED TO APPEAR
Spirit West Coast always presents the top new and emerging artists in Christian music. In 2010, several newcomers are appearing including the current New Artist of the Year: Tenth Avenue North. Songs tend to be the first step in identifying and linking artists with fans. Tenth Avenue North has already had three #1 songs: By Your Side, Love Is Here, and Hold My Heart, all from their 2008 debut album Over and Underneath which was the best-selling record by a new artist for 2008. Tenth Avenue North is scheduled to appear on the KLOVE Main Stage on Thursday, July 1.
THE SUPERTONES "STRIKE BACK"
Spirit West Coast is pleased to announce that the O.C. Supertones are including appearances at both 2010 festivals as part of their limited appearance summer reunion tour. As the century turned 10 years ago, the Supertones were one of the top bands in Christian music. Always known for their unparalleled live show, the Tones played SWC Monterey as late as 2005. By mid-decade, band members Tony, Darren, Matt (a.k.a. Mojo), Dan, Ethan and drummer Jason felt lead into other areas of ministry. The original member six-some will be appearing on the Main Stage in Monterey on Friday, July 2.
