Monterey festival moves to early July

The big news for 2010 is that Spirit West Coast has moved to early July from the traditional late July weekend. The 2010 dates are Thursday, July 1 - Saturday, July 3. "The move was necessitated by the limited availability of Laguna Seca," reports festival director Jon Robberson. " We could not get the traditional late July weekend due to the World Superbike Circuits Race."

Since SWC is on the July 4th weekend, a fun and new theme will be in place for 2010 - the All-American Picnic. The festival's performance areas will be decorated in a festive red, white and blue, and there will be a load of old-fashioned, All-American picnic activities...like gunny-sack races, hot dogs, cotton candy, patriotic music, and all sorts of things to celebrate Independence Day. 

"The whole goal of the All-American Picnic theme is for people to have a great connection to Independence Day activities," explains Robberson.
